Adventure Racing

Adventure Racing

Being white water rafting specialists, we have the ability to facilitate a diverse range of rafting.  This has led us to being involved in several Adventure Races.

No project is to big or small, so if you are a corporate group, sports team, group of mates or anyone else that requires a team of river experts to facilitate you river racing, contact us.  You’ll be amazed at what we can do.

Adventure racing is usually site specific to fit in with your other racing activities and objectives.  What we offer is an individual safety assessment and management of the river and section that your group would like to raft on. We provide the rafts, raft guides and all associated gear required.  To give you an idea, here are some examples of adventure racing that we have been involved in, in the past and present.

Spring Challenge – An annual all women’s adventure race in the top half of the South Island, with over 1800 competitors racing.  They have a 3 hour, 6 hour and a 12 hour race.  We provide around 75 rafts and gear with qualified guides, and facilitate the rafting section of this race.

Buller Festival – This is a local annual event that includes a social raft race.  We sponsor this, including setting the course, with gates and turns etc, through one of our local grade 3 rapids on the Buller River.  Often with a ‘le mans’ swim start, this event is about having a laugh, fun and participation. (It is good to see someone who is not all “Mouth and Trousers”).
